One of the great classics in the history of cinema and one of the most celebrated works of Steven Spielberg, ET The Extraterrestrialreleased on December 25, 1982 in Brazilian theaters, is not perfect for the director, who pointed out some regrets with the conduct of the narrative.

starring Henry Thomas (Elliot), Drew Barrymore (Gertie), Robert MacNaughton (Michael), Dee Wallace (mary), Peter Coyote (keys) It is C.Thomas Howell (tyler), the film follows “the boy Elliott, who befriends a harmless little alien far away from his home planet. He decides to keep the adorable creature a secret and at home after introducing her to his brothers.”

During participation in TIME100 Summit (via People), in New York, the filmmaker commented on the decision to change the equipment shown in a scene of the film in which federal agents approach children with guns walkie talkies.

“It was a mistake [retirar as armas de fogo do filme]. I never should have done that,” he said. Spielberg. “Why ET is a product of its times, and no film should be reviewed based on the lens we are now willingly or forced to look at.”

I should never have tampered with my own work file and I don’t recommend anyone do that. All of our films are sort of a measurement or side pole of where we were when we made them.
