Marvel: Sam Rhyme did not want a zombie in Dr. Strange 2

Contrary to what one might think at first, director Sam Raim did not want the zombie version of Dr. Strange in the multiverse of madness.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness continues to do well in cinemas. During these lines, Marvel feature film director Sam Reim, led by Benedict Cumberbatch, has already grossed more than $ 800 million worldwide.

And even if many recognized Sam Raim’s father in Marvel’s cinematic world in his first release, the filmmaker did not want it to be that way, nor did he want to put too many references to his world in this film. For example, Rime specifically did not want the zombie version of Dr. Strange in the movie that appeared in some of the movie trailers.

Screenwriter Michael Waldron really instructed Polygon :

“I was thinking about Sam all the time. I had seen his films, I tried to pay attention to their dialogues because I wanted them to look like Sam Raim’s film. But to him, you have to give up for that. “Give me a zombie.” In fact, when I gave him the idea for Undead Strange, he really was.

Captain America … Zombies!

It was therefore necessary to convince the director of Evil Dead that the zombie version of Dr. Strange was the final and necessary solution to the main story of the script in order to silence his reluctance. “When we could justify it”Recalls Waldron, “Sam agreed.”

And so was born “Zombie Strange”: thanks to the great insistence of the film director, who at first seemed to want without him. This may come as a surprise, as Sam Rhyme has just started his career in a zombie movie.
