Eric Barbier and his screenwriter Marie Einard faced a multitude of scenes to adapt the epic adventure novel that traces the 20 years of Romain Garry and his mother’s life. “vertigo”in the words of the former. Thus, they had to find a form of screenplay that would allow them to keep the essence of the novel and reduce it by two-thirds.
