The Hunger Games spin-off gets its first trailer; clock

Paris Films and Lionsgate released the first official trailer of the The Hunger Games – The song of birds and snakes, spin-off of the franchise. The spin-off hits theaters nationwide Nov. 15 (US release is Nov. 17).

Based on Suzanne Collins’ 2020 novel of the same name, the story takes place over 60 years before the events of Hunger games. The storyline focuses on the dreaded President Snow at a young age.

President Snow was played by veteran Donald Sutherland in the original films, and his younger counterpart, Coriolanus Snow, will be played by Tom Blyth. Alongside her, the protagonist will be Rachel Zegler, best known for her role in Love sublime love.

Years before becoming the tyrannical president of Panem, eighteen-year-old Coriolanus Snow sees a chance for a change of fortune when he is chosen to mentor Lucy Gray Baird, a tribute girl from impoverished District 12.

Synopsis.

In addition to the aforementioned protagonists, the cast includes none other than Viola Davis, who will play the role of Dr. Volumnia Gaul, the main villain of the story. Besides her, there is still Hunter Schafer, from the series euphoriaand Peter Dinklage, best known for his role in game of Thrones.

Francis Lawrence, responsible for three of the four films in the series, returns to direct The song of birds and snakesand author Collins will be one of the writers.

The first film of Hunger games was released in 2012. The story takes place in a dystopian future, where the United States is called Panem and every year a boy and a girl from each district of the country must participate in the Hunger Games, a competition that serves as punishment for the riots against the capital.

With the televised Games, youngsters fight to the death until only one champion remains. The first four films starred Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.
