“I can’t think of any other movie that explores that kind of storyline.”
Chris Pratt returns once again as Star-Lord for the Marvel sequel, while Zoe Saldana is back too like Gamora, one of Marvel’s best female characters, although a new version after the death of the original character in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, one of the best superhero movies in history.
Talking about the history between the two characters, Pratt explained exclusively to ‘Digital Spy’ how romance influences the new film, while has praised the “original” romantic plot of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’.
“There’s this wild version of Gamora who seems like she hasn’t learned any of the life lessons that we had learned together to become Quill and Gamora,” he said. “He is lost without her and she is lost without him”.
“He thinks it was him, it was the Guardians of the Galaxy, it was finding this family that cared deeply for her that saved her life, and he is desperate to save her life again for what it would mean to himbecause without her, he doesn’t know who he is”. Are we looking at one of the best love movies in the history of cinema?
Pratt added that “it was a lot of fun” and “an incredible way to explore some of the themes of romance between two people that we’ve seen together on screen.”
And continued: “I can’t think of any other movie that explores that kind of plot.. It was original, which is a difficult thing to do in a romance story, in any movie, let alone a ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ movie or a superhero movie.”
The actor also opened up about whether ‘Guardians 3’ was his darkest role emotionallyexplaining: “This was an opportunity to go there dramatically, not only with the story of Quill and Gamora, but also with Rocket’s story“Something that we also reflected in our review of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’.
“This was a great opportunity to flex some different muscles,” the actor quips. “In the previous movies we did a lot of action scenes and had moments of fantasy, and even some dramatic momentsbut this one was darker in the drama and still we managed to find a way to undermine it with humor And that’s James Gunn’s specialty.”
