Amber Heard will be fine in the highly anticipated Aquaman sequel. Indeed, the first trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom was released at CinemaCon, the annual movie theater convention in Las Vegas, during Warner Bros.’ presentation on Tuesday.
An insider at the screening reports that Amber Heard can be seen fighting underwater in two brief shots from the trailer. However, he has no dialogue in the trailer, which is yet to be made public.
The actress’ role, Mera, was first introduced in 2017’s Justice League before becoming one of Aquaman’s main characters alongside Jason Momoa – also the hero’s companion – in the original film. Hit of 2018.

Last June, a now-deleted Just Jared media article reported that the actor had been “ruled out” of the second installment. His spokesman later called the rumor “inaccurate, insensitive and slightly crazy”.
However, during a defamation lawsuit against Johnny Depp, Amber Heard said her role was significantly reduced in the upcoming sequel.
“I fought very hard to stay in the film – they didn’t want to include me in the film“, he said on the stand, adding that he played a “very stripped-down version” of the role and that action scenes between him and another character were removed.
At the same time, some angry fans started a petition to remove the actor from the project: in April 2023, it had no less than 4.6 million signatures. At least if the trailer is to be believed, Mera will be there, but she won’t be the main character she was in the first movie. Instead, Aquaman seems to be teaming up this time with his half-brother Orm Marius, also known as Master of the Oceans / Master of the Ocean, played by Patrick Wilson.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom It will be released in theaters on December 20, 2023 by James Wan.
In the meantime, rediscover the first installment, available for streaming on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
