Taika Waititi could direct Klara and the sun adaptation

Looks like Taika Waititi has found his next project. The director is in talks to direct the adaptation of Clear and the sunthe bestselling novel by Kazuo Ishiguro The New York Times. The film will be produced by Sony 3000 Pictures, and Dahvi Waller is already writing the first draft of the screenplay.

The novel by Ishiguro, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature and the Booker Prize for The remains of the dayfollows Klara, a robot girl created to keep teenagers from feeling lonely. In the story, she tries to save a family who are living with broken hearts.

The book was released in 2021 and has since become a fever on TikTok as well. The work soon made it to the bestseller list of the The New York Times in two categories and was chosen to be the March book club reading that year. Good morning America.
