Good news for fans of Netflix’s latest gem, La Diplomate. The platform announced on May 1 that the Keri Russell-hosted series had been renewed for a second season.
A surprisingly quick update to this political drama that started on April 20th. Netflix was quick to communicate its launch with fanfare, with the series taking first place in the prestigious Top 10 English-Language Series in its first week. In its first weekend, La Diplomate was watched by 57.48 million hours and reached the top 10 in 86 countries.
The series is from Deborah Kahn, an experienced screenwriter known and appreciated for her work on classics such as Grey’s Anatomy, The White House or Homeland. We follow Kate Wyler (Keri Russell), the new United States ambassador to the United Kingdom. She must defuse international crises, forge strategic alliances in London and adjust to her new place in the spotlight, all while trying to survive her marriage to career diplomat and political star Hal Wyler (Rufus Sewell).
