Top Gun Quiz: Can you spot the planes from these movies?

In connection with the release of “Top Gun: Maverick”, we invite you to play in the cinema with airplanes, to find these ten movies!

This was undoubtedly one of the main events of the 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. Tom Cruise’s big comeback – he had already climbed the ladder for the Horizons Lointains in 1992 – came to populate the Top Gun: the Maverick, by helicopter, with a parade of French patrol planes and fireworks. Art, simply!

Indeed, 36 years after the release of the first part, the actor is still playing the role of Pete Mitchell. He also discovers during the scene, his assistant “Ice Man”, played by Val Kilmer, has unfortunately been reduced to throat cancer, which has virtually lost his use of speech. Also starring in this sequel are Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly and Ed Harris. In terms of production, Tom Cruise is collaborating for the second time with Joseph Kosinski, with whom he has already filmed in 2013 for the science fiction film Oblivion.

While Top Gun is arguably one of the first movies to connect airplanes and movies, other movies will be remembered as well. It was already at the 1983 L’Étoffe des Héros that he repeated the epic of the American post-war pilots with the impressive cast of the time (Sam Shepard, Scott Glenn, Ed Harris, Dennis Quaid, deceased Fred Ward, died May 8).

In the lighter registry, it was the Zucker brothers who took us into the air to present one of the cult comedies of the ’80s, “There’s a Pilot on a Plane.” More recently, it was Clint Eastwood who filmed Tom Hanks Sally, a film depicting the exploitation of pilot Chesley Sullenberger, who was able to land his plane in distress on the Hudson River.

Planes are numerous in the history of cinema and with this quiz I recommend you to try to combine ten of them with a good movie. Are you ready to take off?
