The project involves installing a solar power plant on the automaker’s land
Ferrari has signed an agreement with Enel X for the construction of a photovoltaic system for a new “renewable energy community” in Fiorano Modenese and Maranello, cities that host the luxury car manufacturer’s test track and factory, respectively.
According to Ferrari, this will be the first industrial-type energy community supported by a company for the benefit of its territory in Italy.
The project calls for the installation of an approximately 1 megawatt peak (MWp) solar system on land owned by the automaker adjacent to the Fiorano racetrack by December this year. The energy generated will be fully available to the local community.
“Sustainability is a priority for us. We want to reach the goal of carbon neutrality by 2030, but we do not hide our ambition to inspire wider change,” said Benedetto Vigna, Ferrari chief executive. .
