If you enjoyed Night Agent, Netflix has an even better thriller: a fast-paced miniseries that’s now making waves

The fiction created by Shawn Ryan has dominated the streaming platform for several weeks now. If you enjoyed it and haven’t seen Game Safety yet, you should check it out.

Night Agent ended up being one of those Netflix series that arrives without making much noise and ends up becoming a real hit on the streaming platform. In its first week in the catalog, the series created by Shawn Ryan not only managed to lead the Top 10 world series on Netflix, but did so with scandalous numbers that quickly earned him the bronze medal in the ranking of the best debuted on the platform in its first week, losing only against Wandinha and Dahmer.

In its first seven days, The night agent was in sight of the second season of Shadow and Bones and managed to amass nearly 170 million hours of viewing. Now, nearly four weeks later, it continues to be in the top 10 in over 90 countries.

If you’ve already watched the 10 episodes that make up Season 1 and want more, you probably already know the good news: The Night Agent is getting a second season on Netflix. A quick move by the streaming platform that surprised many by skipping its usual celebrity rule four weeks after its debut.

However, for now we will have to wait. So, if you want to see another political thriller, here’s a surefire tip: Bodyguard (Safety in the Game), one of the best series in the catalog. Developed by the BBC and distributed by Netflix, the platform surprised us with the highest quality production in 2018.

Maybe you’ve heard of it and even seen it, but if you haven’t seen it yet, our advice is to give it a chance as soon as possible.

Running for six consecutive episodes, Bodyguard stars Richard Madden and Keeley Hawes and is an absolutely fast-paced and emotionally charged political thriller. The starting point is the mission of David Budd (Madden), a Scottish veteran of the war in Afghanistan suffering from post-traumatic stress, to act as bodyguard for Julia Montague (Hawes), an ambitious member of the British government who becomes become a terrorist target.

Recounting everything that happens next would be too revealing, but the series was applauded in 2018 with almost absolute unanimity: it has 93% positive reviews on the aggregator Rotten Tomatoes and was even nominated for best drama at the prestigious Emmy Awards.

Furthermore, five years after the frenetic series premiere, it was precisely the success of The Night Agent that organically attracted new viewers to Bodyguard, which recently surprised and became a trend thanks to the success of the other series. However, many are still wondering about a second season that seemed quite viable five years ago for its creator, but which is still not a 100% reality on the platform and which many fear has been definitively left in the background.
