Where to see the Indiana Jones movies before the premiere of the fifth with Harrison Ford this summer

Time to review the Indiana Jones saga, from ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ to ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’. The fifth installment is just around the corner!

The Indiana Jones saga is one of the most beloved of all time, and that is why we review on which platforms streaming we can see all the movies before the premiere of the fifth installment, ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate’ (2023).

Maybe you’re watching them for the umpteenth time, or maybe you’re going to settle a score by watching them for the first time, and both options are perfect: Originally conceived by George Lucas, directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Harrison Ford, the ‘Indiana Jones’ movies are among the best adventure movies of all time (some of them would even be among the best films in the history of cinema) and they are a must-see for any movie buff. Also, can you think of a better family session than with Indy and company?

As we review the many reasons why we want to see ‘Indiana Jones 5’ in theaters next June, we dig where to see the Indiana Jones movies already available on the platforms.

Where to watch ‘Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark’

The movie ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ is available on SkyShowtime in Spain.

This is the first installment of the saga (although not the first in the time line), and the one that became an absolute success in 1981. Harrison Ford was already a star thanks to ‘Star Wars’, released a few years before, but this film further cemented his stardom. Set in the year 1936, on the brink of World War II, the story follows an archeology professor who in his spare time becomes a skilled explorer dedicated to recovering valuable historical relics. The US government entrusts him with the search for the Ark of the Covenant, which could contain an absolute power that the Nazis are after.

Where to watch ‘Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom’

The movie ‘Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom’ is available on Movistar+ and SkyShowtime in Spain.

In terms of timeline, this second installment takes place one year before ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’, in Shanghai in 1935. There we meet Indiana Jones again, who escapes from the trouble he has created in a local with a singer and his young companion. The three will end up in India, where they will help the inhabitants of a small village to recover the children that have been stolen from them. We count it among Harrison Ford’s best films, and also as the film in which we fell in love with Ke Huy Quan, recent winner of the 2023 Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for ‘Everything at once everywhere’.

Where to watch ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’

The movie ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’ is available on Movistar+ and SkyShowtime in Spain.

This was the end of the ’80s trilogy (although the saga would continue later, as we know) and it’s arguably the funniest of all. We owe that to the crazy relationship between Indiana Jones and his father (played by Sean Connery), who must face an adventure together in search of the Holy Grail. The third installment of ‘Indiana Jones’ has some incredible moments, River Phoenix as a young version of the protagonist and the Nazis back as the villains of the show.

The movie ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’ is available on Movistar+ and SkyShowtime in Spain.

Almost twenty years after the premiere of the previous installment and after turning Indiana Jones into an adventure film icon, Steven Spielberg returned to take the reins of the saga with this fourth installment released in 2008. And yes, it still divides tremendously fans between supporters and detractors. No matter which side you’re on, it’s not bad to review it ahead of the premiere of ‘Indiana Jones 5’. This is how we will see the leap in history to the year 1957, in the middle of the Cold War, where we meet our favorite archaeologist and a young man played by Shia LaBeouf while they are looking for the Akator Crystal Skull.

The movie ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate’ is released in theaters on June 28, 2023.

It will be the first film in the saga not directed by Steven Spielberg, but by James Mangold, but it will feature Harrison Ford as the lead. Along with him we find the star signings of Phoebe Waller-Bridge (creator and star of ‘Fleabag’, ready to give the saga a breath of fresh air) and Mads Mikkelsen (who of course acts as a villain). The fifth installment of the franchise will be seen at the Cannes Film Festival before hitting theaters around the world.
