Like all Marvel MCU movies, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ forces you to stay until the end of the credits to discover a couple of surprise scenes…
‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ has reached our screens with farewell airs. James Gunn closes his trilogy at Marvel with this film before finally putting himself at the controls of DC, and Several actors from the cast have revealed that this could be their last movie within the UCM. With this frame of mind, the post-credits scenes of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3’ seem very important not only for the calendar of upcoming Marvel releases, but for the future of the cosmic saga itself and for that of several of the most beloved characters in the House of Ideas.
In recent months (or rather years), it seems that Marvel is opening more plots than it can close and introducing more characters than its rate of releases allows it to develop. Do you remember the post-credits scene of ‘Eternals’, almost 3 years ago, and Kit Harington’s Black Knight? Or Charlize Theron’s character in the post-credits scene of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’? Do you remember the post-credits scene of ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’? Or the recent post-credits scene of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’? Don’t worry, these links are there to refresh your memory.
But first of all, answer a question. And no, that question is not “how are the machines?”, but…
‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’: Does it have post-credits scenes?
Always active on social networks James Gunn himself has confirmed on Instagram that there will not be a post-credits scene but twoas is customary in the company’s productions: One in the middle of the credits and another at the very end, just before the movie lights come on.
And, from here, SPOILERS TO THE SACK.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’, first post-credits scene: Who are the new Guardians?
After the end of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3’, the Guardians of the Galaxy have ended up separated by the entire Marvel universe, and Rocket Racoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) is the new captain and leader of the team. Peter (Chris Pratt) is gone, Mantis (Pom Klementieff) too, Nebula (Karen Gillan) and Drax (Dave Bautista) remain in Wisdom as the heads of a new society and Gamora (Zoe Saldaña) returns with the Ravagers of Sylvester Stallone, his real family.
But then, what about the Guardians of the Galaxy?
The first post-credits scene introduces us to the new Guardians of the Galaxy. Led by Rocket Raccoonas we already said, and of course with groot (Voice of Vin Diesel) next to him. But they are the only “original” members of the group. The new additions are Kraglin (Sean Gunn) and cosmo (Maria Bakalova), who are promoted from “collaborators” to full-fledged Guardians, Adam Warlock (Will Poulter), the villain Drax gives a second chance in a Dave Bautista and James Gunn pull to Disney, his mascot Blurp and the very young Phyla Vell (Kai Zen), a female superhero whose origin story has been changed by the MCU.

Adam Warlock is still quite green, “just born” literally, but he can become one of the most powerful characters in marvel (it already has been in the comics). As for Phyla, the surprise last-minute addition, in the comics she’s daughter of Mar-Vell and has become Captain Marvel, although she was also known as Quasar and Mártir, her current alias. In the movie she belongs to a new “perfect” race created by the High Evolutionary.
‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’, second post-credits scene: What about Peter Quill?
Peter begins the film by drowning his sorrows in alcohol and overwhelmed by the death of “his” Gamora. He is dejected because he believes that everyone he loves ends up dying. Gamora, Yondu… And now almost RocketHer best friend.

At the end of the tape we see him take a break and return to Earth to search for a person he left behind: his grandfather. And he finds him, although he is already close to 90 years old.
The second post-credits scene of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 ‘shows Peter adjusting to a routine life in his new (old) home, talking about mowing the lawn and having coffee with his grandfather, while he reads in the newspaper the strange testimony of Kevin Bacon, the actor who claims to have been abducted by aliens (events that occurred in the Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas special).
After this brief shot, comes the announcement that ends the film: “star lord will return“.
