Coronation of King Charles III: find out how much the ceremony should cost

The coronation ceremony of Queen Elizabeth II’s son, which takes place this Saturday (6), must have spent a lot on security

The cost of the coronation King Charles III, which will take place this Saturday 6, at Westminster Abbey, is the subject of much speculation. But actually the exact amount of the ceremony has not yet been confirmed.

Speaking to Marie Claire, expert Victoria Arbiter says it’s unlikely they’ll release the exact cost until next year. After all, they have to announce the amount together with the publication of the royal family’s finances. However, the Arbitrator notes that security will surely be the most significant expense. After all, we will have the necessary security presence to protect not only the royal family, but the public as well.

Although some experts have predicted a total expenditure of approx. 100 million pounds (about R$ 628 million), Kinsey Schofield, host of the “To Di for Daily” podcast believes the king would cut costs – which he does whenever possible.

If the value is similar to what experts speculate, King Charles III’s coronation ceremony will cost twice as much as Queen Elizabeth II’s ceremony. At the time, the monarch spent around 50 million pounds (about R$313 million) in today’s currency.

As the coronation approaches, it’s clear the cost of the event remains anyone’s guess. However, it is also evident that the ceremony will bring together people from all over the world to celebrate the controversial new king.
