Marvel dominates the box office on May 3 releases with Part 3 Guardians of the Galaxy ! James Gunn’s movie starts with 159,499 viewers. That’s better than the last MCU feature, Ant-Man 3, which drew 134,463 fans last February.
The Marvel blockbuster achieves the 4th best start of 2023 (without previews) behind Super Mario Bros, Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom and Creed III.
In addition, this 3rd opus shows the best start to the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy without a preview.
In 2014, the first volume attracted 108,168 people (170,370 previews). As for the second episode, it had 152,843 fans in 2017 (232,682 with previews).
Comedy comes second for honorOlivier Marshall attracted more than 22,000 spectators. On the 3rd step of the podium, director Kelly Reichardt won 4,632 fans. It achieved a lower score than the previous feature, The First Cow: 5,269 admissions.
