Vice-President and Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), Geraldo Alckmin, said on Thursday that the manufacturing sector in Brazil is “desperately looking” for credit, but that it is not possible to obtain it with a Selic rate of 13 .75% per annum.
In a speech at the first meeting of the Council for Sustainable Economic and Social Development of President Luiz InĂ¡cio Lula da Silva’s government, the so-called Council, Alckmin also said he was confident that a tax reform proposal would advance to the National Congress.
