The game
Athletico-PR trailed on the scoreboard nine minutes into halftime. Villalba takes advantage of Bento’s mistake when the ball goes out, plays for Oscar Cardozo, who dribbles past the defender and ends up on goal. The Hurricane goalkeeper even touched the ball before going in. At 32, Cardozo has missed an opportunity to branch out. He received it in the box and sent it over the Hurricane goal.
Paulo Turra’s side did not create clear chances to equalize even early on. However, at the start of the final stage, the hurricane left everything equal to six minutes. After a free kick, Pedro Henrique straightened things out for Rômulo, who surged into the box and headed the match level.
After a corner kick, Barboza pulled away, but Athletico-PR got the rest. Ternas crossed into the box for Alex Santana in the box and anticipated the goalkeeper to swing the net. The Paraná team had a better second half, but it wasn’t very creative. Rubro-negro had another chance with Rômulo, who ended up expelling him.
Enso González, in the 38th minute, risked Bento’s goal, but the goalkeeper saved calmly. Furthermore, the Athletico-PR goalkeeper almost botched it, but he was able to recover and save another shot from González. The midfielder of the Paraguayan team nevertheless sent a shot near the crossbar.
In the final stretch the Rubro-negro underwent some pressure, but managed to keep the result and start with the three points away from home.
