Starring in the feature film The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan since April 5, actress Eva Green recently won a lawsuit against production companies White Lantern Films and SMC Specialty Finance, from which she demanded $1 million.
In 2018, the actor was announced for the casting of Dan Pringle’s science fiction film, patriot. But in October 2019, the film was abandoned. Except Eva Green signed a “pay or play” contract. This means that the producer commits to paying the artist even if the company later decides not to hire him or if the film is not made.
So Eva Green attacked the companies to get them to pay her. In turn, the British production company White Lantern counterattacked, accusing the actor of “Fraudulently stated that he was ready, willing and able to fulfill contractual obligations“, but she was never going to play in the movie. They tried to discredit the actress by passing her off as a diva.

In a statement published on Instagram, Eva Green is happy to be able to clear her reputation: “Today, after a long legal battle, I won my case at the High Court in London. The case has been widely misrepresented in the press and I would like to take this opportunity to make a personal statement.
“My professional reputation is preserved”
I won my case with the financiers of the proposed film – and all the charges they brought against me were completely dismissed by the judge. My professional reputation is maintained.
The judge ruled that I never breached my contractual obligations. The verdict is clear. I am grateful to the court, the judge, my legal team and my brave agent who is my strength and shieldR.”
Therefore, White Lantern Films has to pay the actor 1 million dollars (918,000 euros). On the poster of The Three Musketeers – d’Artagnan, in which she portrays Milady, Eva Green will be at the center of the second part of the diptych The Three Musketeers: Milady from December 13.
