The 2022 breakout anime will have a second season and movie, called ‘Spy X Family Code: White’ later this year.
‘Spy x Family’ became the revelation anime of 2022 along with ‘Chainsaw Man’. But if the anime of Mappa, current study of ‘Attack on Titan’ is gore, sex and violence, that of Wit Studio (author of the first three seasons of ‘Attack on Titan’) It is charm, humor and pure sitcom. Like the anime, the manga created by Tatsuya Endō It takes us to a world divided into two great countries in a constant Cold War. In this world full of secret service spies and assassins we meet Twilight, a mythical spy who receives the mission to approach the leader of the rival country. There’s only one way, to get into the parent meetings at your son’s exclusive school. For it he adopts an orphaned girl named Anya and marries only an apparently innocent girl named Yor.
Until then, everything would be enough to be a pretty funny spy sitcom, but the premise of ‘Spy x Family’ took everything much further. Yor does not agree to this fake marriage just because single women of a certain age are suspicious in the eyes of society, but because she is an elite assassin. But none of this reaches the level of the true protagonist of the series, Anya, a telepathic girl that she is adopted by these two liars and, in order not to be returned to the orphanage, hides her powers while she is the only one who finds out everything that goes through the heads of her parents, in a continuous double life. Furthermore, on her and her academic performance depends on her adoptive father’s mission to save the world from war.
We haven’t even had to name the dog that sees the future or the brother-in-law of the secret police to give you an idea of why this comical and familiar anime has turned out to be a mess capable of conquering half the world’s public. And we are in luck, because there is not only a second season, but also a movie.
‘Spy x Family’ season 2 and movie ‘Code: White’: release date and where to see in Spain
Much was criticized to Wit Studio that it took four years between the first and second season of ‘Attack on Titan’ and that this was, moreover, only 12 chapters. Well, it seems that the study has put the batteries with its new flagship product. The first season, of 25 episodes, will arrive in 2022 and there is already season 2 and movie planned for 2023, just one year later.
‘Spy X Family Code: White’ arriveto to theaters in Japaneitheron December 22, 2023, although we will have to wait and see who and when it premieres in Spain (probably Crunchyroll, like ‘Suzume’). Before season 2 will arrive, of which we still do not know the number of episodes, but we would be surprised if it was as long as the first. Season 2 of ‘Spy X Family’ will arrive in October 2023. It is expected that premieres on Crunchyroll, which is already the streaming service where we could and can see the first season exclusively.
‘Spy X Family’ season 2 and movie: Plot
We’ll know more about the plot of the movie when we know how far season 2 covers. For now it has been confirmed that it will be an original story created by those responsible for the anime without any link to the mangaka. As for season 2… what we do know is that Season 1 of the series covered the first 39 chapters of the manga. Therefore, it is expected that season 2 will start right where the first installment left off, after Twiligth’s first contact with her goal… We don’t know until which chapter it will adapt, but considering that the manga is not finished yet (still has less than 80 chapters), it has more or less the same material material to adapt as what the first season occupied.
We do not want to go to the manga and gut the story for anime viewers, but we already tell you that even in the source itself there is still a long way to go.
‘Spy x Family’ season 2 and movie: Trailer and images
For now we have more images from the movie than from the season. These are the first teaser and poster of ‘Spy X Family Code: White’:
As for the second installment of the series, we have to settle for this preview in the form of Crunchyroll sketches that announces both the movie and the second season.
