Netflix: Pause Season 1 Episode 7 to See Queen Charlotte’s Hero in Sex Education

India Ria Amarteifio has it all in Queen Charlotte, the Bridgerton spin-off that focuses on the monarch’s early reign. Aside from her striking (and intended) resemblance to Golda Rochevel, the 21-year-old actress brings the same strength and independence to her character as her older self.

India Amarteifio is not his first collaboration with Netflix, it is even his second project with the platform. The young Brit had a really small role in 2019 – the role of Liz – in the first season of Sex Education, a cool and unbridled English series with Asa Butterfield, Emma Mackey and Gillian Anderson. Step out of the gorgeous gowns and decadent hairstyles, she’s here with all her cool. You’ll have to wait for episode 7 – the one at the ball – to see it.

And the episode in question begins with her when one of her fans (Liam) delivers a cake to her doorstep and asks her to be his date. A heart-shaped cake ends up in the trash, under the sad eyes of a rejected young boy, Liam.

The scene that will lead to the main event at the end of the episode (from 39 minutes) when he threatens to kill himself at the ball to get Liz’s attention. He raises his hopes by declaring to the congregation: “I don’t know him! He’s just a boy who follows me everywhere!Fortunately, Otis’s intervention convinces Liam not to end his life…

This will be the last time India’s Riya Amarteifio will appear on screen in the field of sex education. And in Queen Charlotte, because it’s a mini-series. But it’s a safe bet that his career will take off after this…
