At the end of the final battle between the Trade Federation battle droids and the Gungan army at the end of the film, just as Naboo’s enemies are crippled, take a good look at the back of the droid facing off against Jar Jar Bink. You’ll notice a small inscription that represents the numbers 1-1-3-8, referring to George Lucas’ first feature film: THX 1138.

Midway through Episode II of the Prelude, as the bounty hunter returns to his ship on the Kamino after his first duel against Obi-Wan Kenobi, his helmet crashes into the device’s airlock. This is a small reference to the very first film of the Star Wars saga, directed by George Lucas in 1977, in which we already saw the storm accidentally knocking on its door.
