The return of Michael Keaton
Participation in The flash marks the return of Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne, Batman. The last time the actor wore the hero suit was in 1992, in the film Batman: The Return.
Keaton shelved The Dark Knight when, after two films, Tim Burton was replaced by director Joel Shumacher. Val Kilmer took over the role of the bat.
Keaton’s return was revealed in August 2020. In August 2022, he shared what made him want to wear the black armor again after three decades.
I was curious to know what it would be like after so many years. Not so much me doing it – obviously a bit – but I was just curious (…). This whole thing is gigantic. They have their own world. So I like looking at him as an outsider, thinking ‘Wow!’
