The athlete talks to the Santos defender about the matter and offers R $ 60,000
One of the names denounced by the Public Prosecutor of Goiás in the betting manipulation case is that of the player Fernando Neto. According to the “Ge” portal, the São Bernardo athlete would have contacted the defender Eduardo Bauermann, of Santos, to try to entice the defender to join the scheme.
Fernando Neto sought out Bauermann to offer the defender R$60,000, in order for him to receive a yellow card in the final leg of the Brasileirão. The conversation allegedly took place two days after Santos x Avai, in last year’s Brasileirão. At the time, Fernando was playing for Operário-PR.
In the conversation, Bauermann declined the offer, but revealed that he had attempted to enter a scheme to receive a card in 2021, when he was still playing for América-MG. Fernando revealed that he participated in the scheme when he fouled Sport’s Luciano Juba in a match against Operário.
Bauermann is one of the names appearing in the MP-GO complaint to Justice. The player was allegedly enticed to receive a yellow card in the match between Santos x Avai, which did not happen. After not being booked, the defender received a red card in the next match, against Botafogo, in a match also investigated by the deputy. THE CASE
The investigation launched by the MP-GO, which has the name of Maximum Penalty Operation, has listed at least 13 matches with a manipulation scheme. According to the institution’s website, eight matches would be from Serie A of the 2022 Brazilian championship, as well as one from Serie B and four in the state this year.
The accused players are Eduardo Bauermann, of Santos; Gabriel Tota, from Ypiranga; Victor Ramos, of Chapecoense; Igor Cariús, from Sport; Paulo Miranda, of Nautico; Fernando Neto, of São Bernardo; and Matheus Gomes, of Sergipe. Bruno Lopez, arrested in the first phase of the operation, would be the head of the regime, according to the deputy.
