With Bailey and Addison scheming, the Shonda Rhimes-created medical show once again tackles a major social issue in its 19th season, as abortion rights are sometimes questioned today.

Chandra Wilson responds to AlloCiné

During an interview with Chandra Wilson, AlloCiné also asked the latter if he thinks it’s still important for the series to offer such a story. Then the actor told us:At Grey’s Anatomy, we want to show the world as it is. It’s not about expressing an opinion, one way or the other, deciding whether it’s good or bad, doing this or that…

“Our show is all about medicine, but Bailey sees a flaw in the system.– explained the actor. Here in the United States, these structures are influenced by the health care system, family planning. Because of this, fewer caregivers are equipped to help women who are experiencing a crisis or trying to figure it out.

Chandra Wilson continued:These women are looking for normal, basic care. But there is a void. As a physicist and surgeon, it’s something Bailey is passionate about now that she has a daughter of her own and is looking to the future for her. He wants to do everything so that his son has at least the same rights that he has!
