HPI Season 3: Why TF1 is only airing one new episode a week

HPI Season 3: Why TF1 is only airing one new episode a week

Once again, TF1 has decided to extend the enjoyment of HPI, its phenomenal series hosted by Audrey Fleurot, which returns to the air this Thursday, May 11 at 9.10pm. And this from the first broadcast evening of the 3rd season.

Last year, Front Page first aired two Season 2 episodes per week before changing its mind and offering only the unreleased Episode 5 (out of eight total) every Thursday.

Fans of the detective series will once again be able to discover the third salvo of the adventures of Morgan Alvaro and Adam Karadek (Mehdi Nebibu) as TF1 has decided to program the 3rd season in eight weeks.

The result: a new one airs every Thursday night, followed by reruns of previous seasons and Balthazar series.

So tonight, fans will have the pleasure of discovering “Radial Symmetry,” the highly anticipated first episode of this third season, now available for streaming previews at 9:10 p.m. And then they’ll be able to watch the first episode of season two at 10:05 p.m., before moving on to the first three episodes of Balthazar season 1, led by Tomer Sisley and Hélène de Fugerol.

And you see, the second episode of HPI season 3 will only air on Thursday, May 18, the third on Thursday, May 25, and so on until the finale, which should be offered a priori on Thursday, June 29 on TF1.

Very little delay between filming and broadcasting

If TF1 is opting for a wider-than-usual broadcast schedule, it’s primarily because filming for HPI Season 3 just wrapped up a few weeks ago in Lille.

Indeed, the filming of this new group took place in three stages. The first two episodes have been scheduled for July 2022 to take advantage of the summer conditions necessary for the script. Audrey Flerot, Mehdi Nebibu, Bruno Sánchez, Marie Denarno and their associates met at the end of November 2022 to shoot episodes 3 to 5.

And finally last February, episodes 6 to 8 began filming in Hauts-de-France, with the final applause taking place on March 15. Just a few days before the presentation of the first two episodes in Series Mania.

Currently, the first five episodes of Season 3 are complete and ready to air, but the last three investigations are still in post-production, making it nearly impossible to air two episodes a week.

Of course, there is also an economic and strategic reason behind TF1’s decision, given HPI’s phenomenal success in 2021 and 2022.

Last year, Season 2 of The Adventures of Morgan Alvaro, a former cleaning woman with an IQ of 160 who became a consultant to the Lille police, gathered an average of 9.8 million viewers, making the front page eight of the best audience fiction. 2021-2022 season.

With equally impressive records on target, a stratospheric audience share of 54% among female purchasing managers under 50 (FRDA-50) and 50% among 15-34 year olds. Records that did not beat the first indicator after Dolmen and the second for twenty years.

Then we better understand why TF1 decided to extend the fun by broadcasting one unreleased HPI per week. Are you hoping to match those numbers, or even beat them? The case will follow.
