Disney has announced that it will have a new app that will merge streaming content from Disney+ and Hulu.

Streaming unification was already being considered by the company’s former CEO Bob Chapek, who left the company in November last year.

Disney owns about 2/3 of Hulu’s shares (about 66%) while Comcast owns the rest (33%). With the announcement of this application that will unify streams, speculation is that Disney will buy 100% of the stake.
Another announced change will be an increase in the price of the ad-free subscription. The company did not specify how much the increase will amount to. The new value is expected to be launched in Europe later this year.
In Brazil, there are still no forecasts that Star + – streaming brings together part of Hulu’s content – will have a unified application with Disney +.
The announcement comes after Warner Bros. unveiled Max, its new streaming service that bundles content from HBO Max and Discovery Plus.
