American actress Emma Stone will play a female version of Frankenstein poor things. The film is directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and will be released in US theaters in September of the same year.

Emma Stone slapped Dafoe in the movie
Furthermore poor things, the actress also co-stars with Willem Dafoe in another feature film, also directed by Lanthimos. During the recordings of ANDgiven his request, Emma Stone had to slap him more than 20 times.
At one point in the film, Stone’s character is seen slapping Dafoe, a scene that would normally be recorded without the actor’s presence, with the scene artificially created. But, at the request of the actor, the slaps were real, with the defense of making the scene more genuine and real.
“That’s what you want from actors,” Lanthimos said of Dafoe’s attitude. “Wanting to be a part of it anyway.”
So far, the release date of the film AND it hasn’t been revealed yet.
