In the early hours of this Sunday (26th), Moto3 went to the Sepang tracks to host the Malaysian Grand Prix race. But unfortunately, before the start of the race, a serious accident occurred between two drivers.
During the observation lap, the reigning champion of the category, José Antonio Rueda, and the Swiss Noah Dettwiler were involved in a heavy contact, at the same time as the red flag was displayed. Tension and concern were high throughout the paddock and on the broadcast, with everyone waiting for good news.
The drivers were quickly taken to the medical center located at the racetrack, where the medical management reported that both had arrived in great pain, but were conscious.
The athletes were then transferred by helicopter to the nearest hospital, but beyond that no further information was released. Due to the accident, the race was postponed by approximately 1h45 and with only ten laps completed.
Taiyo Furusato was the winner of the race and achieved his first victory, followed by Piqueras and Adrian Fernandez. In an interview with DAZN Spain, Piqueras and Fernandez sent a message to Rueda and Noah Dettwiler, wishing that their teammates are well and recover soon.
