Jensen Ackles Launches #SaveTheWinchesters Campaign After Series Cancellation

After the cancellation of the series “The Winchesters” by the American television network The CW, actor Jensen Ackles (“The Boys”) has launched the #SaveTheWinchesters campaign on social networks. The purpose of the action is to mobilize the fans of the series “Supernatural”, which gave rise to the prelude, to demonstrate for the non-cancellation of the production.

“Looks like we have some work to do,” the actor posted on his Twitter account, along with the hashtag #SalveOsWinchesters. The former Dean Winchester actor reprized his role in the series and served as an executive producer.

Knowing that cancellation was likely, Warner Bros. Television studio of “The Winchesters” is preparing to look for a new home and plans to be aggressive in its efforts, according to American press reports. As demonstrated in his tweet, Ackles isn’t measuring up for that to happen.

Written and executive produced by Robbie Thompson (“Cursed: Legend of the Lake”), the series focuses on Dean and Sam Winchester’s parents, John and Mary. Told from the point of view of narrator Dean Winchester (Ackles), the work tells the story of how John met Mary and how they risked everything to not only save their love, but the whole world.

While Mary Campbell was introduced as a 19-year-old girl who has been battling the forces of darkness since childhood, John Winchester was a Vietnam War veteran who, until he met her, was unaware of the existence of demons. In the original series, both have tragic fates, but the spin-off season 1 finale showed that this could be avoided.

Starring Meg Donnelly (“Bela, Recatada e do Lar”) and Drake Rodger (“I’m Still Here”), the series was made available in Brazil by HBO Max.
