‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ presents its first trailer and it smells like it will be the best of the zombie franchise since the first seasons of ‘TWD’

The universe of ‘The Walking Dead’ prepares a 2023 full of content that confirms that death does not go with the franchise. Season 8 of ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ will put an end to the spin-off starting May 15 and ‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’ is expected sometime in the second half of the year. But the first real sequel to the original series to be released this year will be ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’.

‘TWD: Dead City’ (previously titled ‘Isle of the Dead’) will feature two of the series’ most popular characters on a mission to Manhattan. The unlikely couple of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) they’ve never been very close due to… Well, a little bit of nothing: Negan’s murder of Maggie’s husband Glenn. However, in the finale of ‘The Walking Dead’, Maggie tells Negan that she appreciates what he did for her son Hershel, and they smooth things over. But she keeps thinking from time to time about Glenn and his horrible final moments… So not everything will be laughter and revelry on this trip.

But there are also zombies, of course. The new series will take place on the island of Manhattan, in New York, which was cut off from the mainland shortly after the outbreak when the US government blew up all the bridges and tunnels. It is estimated that there about a million walkers insideand it is unknown if there are any survivors.

Romero, the father of zombie cinema since he directed ‘Night of the Living Dead’ in 1968) and that occurs an air to John Carpenter from ‘1997: Rescue in New York’ and Tobe Hooper from ‘The Dance of the Dead’. During the 2022 NY Comic Con, it was announced that it would premiere in April 2023. However, in January of this year, AMC pushed back the release date of ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ to June 18, 2023, June 19 in Spain.
