On Saturday (13) the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky declared that he did not need Pope Francis as a possible mediator in the conflict with Russia.
“With all due respect to His Holiness, we don’t need mediators, we need a just peace,” the president said in an interview on Rai’s “Porta a Porta” talk show.
“We invite the Pope, like other leaders, to work for a just peace, but everything else must be done first”, added Zelensky, observing that “it is not possible to mediate with Putin”. “No country in the world can do that,” he said. .
