Last March, we met Fabian Wolfrom at the Series Mania festival. The actress came to present to the public the remaining distribution of the Bardo series, which depicts the life of the former French actress.
France 2 offers two new episodes of this biography every Monday evening, presented by Julia de Nunez. The channel will broadcast the third and fourth episodes this May 15, in which Sasha Distel’s character, with whom Brigitte Bardot had a brief fling, appears. It was Fabian Wolfrom – a face whose fans start here – slipped into a jazz guitarist’s outfit. About the preparation, the actor confided in our microphone:
“I knew Sasha Distel, but not the details of his life. That’s why I got interested in it. It would be an exaggeration to say that I worked on the character. Still, I think I had to see him as a character, not as a mythical and untouchable figure. When you’re told you’re going to play Sacha Distel, no matter how much you practice the song in your bathroom, you’ll never be Sacha Distel. It is vain. But I did it with good will and great humility.”
These two characters meet in the idyllic setting of Saint-Tropez. In the bardo, the heroine falls under his spell… and vice versa. The actor offers a lot in episode 3 James Bondien by the sea, on which the actor gave us a small anecdote: “I remember it was very cold that day. Warm colors are used in the montage. That’s why I was shaking while filming. But yes, it does make James Bond, I hadn’t thought of that! Also, I think it’s general. I will take this opportunity to emphasize the creativity of the composer Arthur Simonin“.
Fabian Wolfrom is Sasha Distel in the Bardot
From Alain Delon… to Sasha Distel
This is not the first time that the young actor played a monument on the screen. You have to look at his filmography to discover that Fabian Wolfrom also lent his features to Alain Delon in the series … to watch on Netflix! With her blue eyes and angular face, it’s impossible to see the slightest resemblance between the two. He tells us about this surreal experience on our microphone:
“I did Alain Delon in a series shot in South America. He was one of the best buds in boxing at the time. Monsoon. Some people consider me similar to him, which does not offend me. I don’t know him personally, but I admire him. At the time I impersonated him, out of politeness and correction, I contacted him to let him know. He didn’t reply, but I know he got the message. They asked me to do things in Alain Delon’s skin on the set, but I refused. I tried to do what he could prove himself“.
The end is where everything begins
From 2021, he plays Louis Guino, a graduate of Auguste Armand’s high school in Here It All Begins, daily newspaper TF1. The role that launched him into the eyes of the general public and to which he will say goodbye in the coming months:
“Everything starts from here, it was great, I made many friends. I learned things, I learned… There are many benefits to playing daily. But there are also some disadvantages, which are time and energy. I want to expand my horizons geographically, physically and literately. I think Louis will be featured less heavily in the coming weeks. I really enjoyed playing this character. Now we have to look elsewhere“.
We don’t yet know when Fabian Wolfrom will leave the series for good, but his character is not featured in the episodes currently airing on TF1.
Interview in March 2023 in Lille.
