The event in Porto Alegre brought together companies from Rio Grande do Sul and Italy
Last Tuesday (16), the city of Porto Alegre hosted an international business meeting between Italian and Rio Grande do Sul companies, focused on innovation and technology in the agro-industrial sector.
The event was organized by the Italian Embassy in Brasilia and the Consulate General in Porto Alegre, in collaboration with the Federation of Industries of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Fiergs) and the Foreign Trade Agency.
In all, 16 leading Italian companies offered the constantly growing agro-industrial market of Rio Grande do Sul an updated overview of the opportunities in the technology and digitization sector.
Consul Valerio Caruso opened the proceedings by emphasizing the unprecedented nature of the initiative for southern Brazil. “Rio Grande do Sul, home to an important and consolidated Italian-Brazilian business community, has always looked to Italian technology as a guarantee of excellence. The initiative is dedicated to them and to the Brazilian friends of this strategic state, with a view to of public-private synergies and further expanding and consolidating our already strong bilateral relations,” he said.
The event was attended by the Secretaries of State for Economic Development, Ernani Polo, and for Technological Innovation, Simone Stulp, authorities and over 100 entrepreneurs and representatives of trade associations. The agricultural attaché Gianluca Cicchiello was present for the embassy.
The meeting concluded with a session of bilateral and B2B meetings. .
