According to Apple, the company is committed to preventing fraud in the App Store and, to that end, it has closed 428,000 developer accounts due to fraudulent activity, as well as disabling 282 million fraudulent customer accounts and blocking 105 million account creations developer. due to suspected fraudulent activity.

In 2022, the company says it rejected about 400,000 apps for violating privacy, in which users’ personal data was collected without permission or knowledge. Apple reported on its struggle with lack of security and privacy by saying:

In more than one case this year, App Review has found apps that use malicious code with the potential to steal user credentials for third-party services. In other cases, the App Review team identified multiple apps that masqueraded as harmless financial management platforms, but had the ability to transform into another app.

In 2022, nearly 24,000 apps were blocked or removed from the App Store for bait and switch violations like these.
