The post-credits scene of ‘Fast & Furious X’ settles one of the biggest controversies in Hollywood

Don’t move from your seat, ‘Fast & Furious X’ includes an amazing post-credits scene that means as much to its universe as it does to Hollywood.

In case it was not clear that the Fast & Furious saga is already one of the most important superhero franchises of the moment, the post-credits scene of ‘Fast & Furious X’ settles one of the biggest controversies in Hollywood in a single plane.

Obviously, what comes next includes what you can find if you don’t move from your seat when the movie ends, so if you don’t want spoilers, this is a good time to leave this article for another day, when you have already enjoyed this pyrotechnic show as Diesel commands: on the biggest possible screen.

If you’ve already checked out, or if you don’t care if we spoil what’s going on, join us on this journey of egos, disagreements and marketing campaigns that defy metafiction and that completes our review of ‘Fast & Furious X’.

The post-credits scene of ‘Fast & Furious X’

That’s how it is, the post-credits scene of ‘Fast & Furious X’ presents us with a new target for Dante Reyes, the Joker from the saga of fast and furious drivers. Like Dom, this new character we see masked awaits a room full of past projections, memories of his union with Dante and his direct involvement in the plot.

“Although Dom was driving, you pulled the trigger,” says the villain’s recorded voice, recalling that it was he who really killed his father in ‘Fast & Furious 5’ (Justin Lin, 2011). When we finally see his face, Hobbs’ face floods the screen, that is, Dwayne Johnson returns to Fast & Furious!

What about Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel?

As we analyzed in The Rock vs. Vin Diesel: his fight step by step, Johnson joined the saga of speed and fury with ‘Fast & Furious 5’ (Justin Lin, 2011) and he repeated his role in the great ‘Fast & Furious 6’ (Justin Lin, 2013) and ‘Fast & Furious 7’ (James Wan, 2015).

It was during the filming of ‘Fast & Furious 8’ (F. Gary Gray, 2017) when things went wrong. “babes When you see the movie in April and it seems like I’m not acting in some scenes and my blood is about to boil, you’ll be right.“, he wrote in a post on social networks. “The good thing is that it suits the film great and matches the character of Hobbs, which blends with my DNA extremely well.”

Months of public insults were highlighted when the film was released and, in the obligatory final scene of the family barbecue, both occupied opposite corners of the terrace where it is held, making it clear that they did not even shoot that scene together.

Johnson and Diesel continued sending messages to each other and at Universal they made a Solomonic decision: ‘Fast & Furious 9’ (Justin Lin, 2021) would only be for Vin but they gave away ‘Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw’ (David Leitch, 2019) to Dwayne. All happy and with full pockets.

The future of Dwayne Johnson in Fast & Furious

This scene is quite a statement of intent. The saga, which according to Diesel will end with ‘Fast X: Part 2’ in 2025 (although more and more are saying that there will be a ‘Fast X: Part 3’), will feature Dwayne Johnson in its cast.

At some point in their public disagreement, the two stars had to make peace, a detail that they did keep so that this final gift would be a surprise for the fandom that, by the way, although it missed Johnson, had found a wonderful substitute in John Cena.
