Vinicius Junior was offended for two seasons; The Spanish league is a disgrace

If something has been done by La Liga to curb the racist chants against Real Madrid’s Brazilian striker, it’s not working

Spanish football is a disgrace. La Liga, which organizes Spanish football, is likewise a disgrace. The government and sports entities are unable to curb the racist demonstration of a country against a single player, vinicio junior, Brazilian, born in one of the many communities of Rio de Janeiro and black. But he only went to work in Spain because he received an invitation from real Madrid for what. They paid Flamengo a fortune to have the player before he turned 18. Therefore, it was Spanish football that opened the doors to the black player who is good with the ball.

And now, at the height of his career, he is the victim of racist Spaniards in almost every match. I can’t even tell you how many times Vini has been called an “ape” by white racists who believe they are superior to others, who judge the color of a citizen’s skin and try to belittle him on the pitch. These white Spanish and Europeans think they are better than others with darker or different skin tones. I say I’m not.

They don’t just affect Wines. They reach all of Brazil, Africa, blacks of all ages and corners of the planet. It’s not just the fans’ fault. There are white players who are indifferent. And, much worse, blacks too.

The Spanish government and the sports and civil bodies are incapable of taking action against them. They prefer, as they have done, to put the case on the back burner, sweeping the filth of part of a people under the rug. They are wrong by omission. Because it’s nothing new that Brazilians are being attacked by these people.

Nor is it an ‘invention’ of Vini’s head because Real Madrid’s match against Valencia this weekend was stopped by the referee after racist insults from their rivals.

So far, the Brazilian has been courageous, handling verbal attacks with professionalism when he is on the pitch. I have doubts if Vini will continue like this, especially since he is already a consecrated player. Spanish football needs Vinícius Júnior more than he needs Spain. The striker can play anywhere in Europe, where perhaps the rules are tougher against racists and where there is more desire to solve the problem. In Spain, it seems that there is none.

The assault against Vini Jr. must also be seen as an assault against all black players playing in Spain. These people certainly understand that there are other football “monkeys” in the country.

They should band together and stop playing for the rest of the season in protest and unity.

Form a complaint together with the (in)competent bodies and let them know that the stoppage will resume after the holidays if there are new racist demonstrations in stadiums. Teams like Valencia should be punished.
