The first footage of the new full-length project “Kids. Birthday” — a family musical animated film shot using the technology of combining video filming and computer animation. The picture will be a prequel to the animated series popular and loved by many children. Main roles — Dads and Moms — the film will be performed by Konstantin Khabensky and Elizaveta Boyarskaya.
For an artist, shooting in an animated film is very different from the usual work. It has its own specificity, magic. This is a fabulous world of animation, where you become on a par with little cartoon characters. This is an interesting experience and a new adventure, – Konstantin shared his impressions of filming.
Everything that happens on the site — very unusual and great. This is the first time I’m doing a movie like this where the characters are imaginary. When we interact with Konstantin Yurievich — it’s one thing with Baby — another, because it is she who is the main treasure here, everything is tuned to her mood and movement. But as it turned out, we still have full-fledged partners who are simply invisible. This is a new experience and, it seems to me, it turned out well, – Boyarskaya added.
The project was directed by Oksana Bychkova (Piter FM, Window to Europe) and Katerina Savchuk (Malyshariki, Tim and Tom, Smesharik), producer — Anya Korableva, and the same team that worked on the original series since 2015 was responsible for the script — Olga Verbitskaya, Svetlana Mardagolimova, Svetlana Malashina and Inga Kirkizh.
According to the plot of the upcoming film, Mom and Dad are moving into a new house and preparing for the first birthday of their daughter Baby. Balancing between work and family, Dad buys a gift from an unusual children’s store without even looking into the box. And there are small animated toys — Malyshariki. While the parents are preparing for the holiday, Malyshariki get out of the box and go in search of their own home.
In wide release the film “Kids. Birthday” will arrive in autumn 2024.
