The penultimate episode of ‘Succession’, 4×08, gave one of the most devastating twists in the series to date, when Roman (Kieran Culkin) tilts the presidential election in favor of far-right conservative (to put it mildly) candidate Jeryd Mencken (Justin Kirk), who vows to block the GoJo deal if elected. Although Kendall (Jeremy Strong) is initially uncomfortable supporting the Republican candidate, he eventually relents to Mencken after learning that Shiv (Sarah Snook) has been working with Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård). The ATN announces in advance that Mencken is the winner of the elections despite the fact that there are votes yet to be counted, and the country reacts with brawls and violent riots.

After the penultimate episode of ‘Succession’ showed us Logan’s funeral, with the three brothers positioning themselves and looking for support to deal the final fratricidal stab that allows them to establish themselves as the definitive successor to Logan Roy (Brian Cox) and the CEO of Waystar RoyCo, HBO Max released the final trailer for the final episode of the series, titled ‘With the eyes open‘.

The end of the series will give us the result of the sale of the company to GoJo, a possibility that has occupied the entire season 4 of ‘Succession’ and part of the previous one.
