‘It wasn’t funny on set’: How was the scene with Karen (Josephine de Meus) and the bear shot in Les Randoneuses?

How will the face-off between Karen (Josephine de Meo) and the pesky bear that comes her way end at the end of the fourth episode of Les Randonneuses, broadcast tonight at 22:00 on TF1?

To find out, you’ll have to be there next Monday to discover the last two episodes of the mini-series, especially by Clémentine Sellier, Alix Poisson and Camille Chamou, which follows the adventures of six “chemo lovers” who are staged. The challenge itself is to climb the Dôme de la Lauze, a peak of almost 4,000 meters.

Honest, funny and moving at the same time, Les Randonneuses, in the background of self-transcendence and endurance through sport, did not leave Internet users extremely shocked by this story inspired by the actions of the real association, Des Sommets pour. rebounder.

But beyond its strong and important themes, the series doesn’t skimp on twists and turns. As well as tonight’s reveal of Karen’s secret, whose relationship with Eva (Elsa Lungini, who found another actress in It All Begins) isn’t the only reason she’s on this trek.

And just when it looks like she’s about to lose her footing, both physically and psychologically weakened, Karen comes face-to-face with this bear that has come out of nowhere, a few steps from the shelter where the group spends the night. A bear that apparently caused a sensation on set, Les Randonneuses producer and co-creator Fanny Rydberger told us.

A word on set: don’t make any noise

“The bear’s name is Valentine, he’s known better than anyone else in this room (laughs). He’s a real star, he’s got a Wikipedia page, he’s been in all the biggest movies.”He explained to us about this black bear born in Texas, which today is one of the most famous show bears in France. Participated in many commercials, music videos or feature films such as Les Kaïra.

“We brought Valentin to the filming site, in the mountains, together with his coach”Fanny Rydberger continues, who remembers that you have to pay special attention to the noise so as not to frighten or rush the animal.

“He arrived in a small van. It was quite an impressive experience because it was important that I didn’t make any noise. When it was time for him to get out of the van, there wasn’t going to be a car in my way. You don’t know how many miles around.”.

“His trainer makes him do what he wants by giving him marshmallows. But at one point I remember there was a car noise and it wasn’t funny on the set at all. Because a bear can have quite unexpected reactions. We realize at that moment that we are really of a very impressive build in the presence of a real bear”.

However, if Valentine influenced the occasional attempt to photograph the randonneus, Josephine de May, this small event clearly did not bother her and took the courage in both hands to shoot her series shared with this bear.

“Josephine went there with a rather insane courage”Fanny Rydberger admits to our microphone. “No one calmed down, we’re not going to lie to each other. But Josephine surprised us. It was pretty spectacular.”.

So will Karen be able to tame this bear? What if the situation turns into a nightmare and persecution? The answer in episode 5 of Les Randonneuses, broadcast next Monday on TF1.
