Hortense teaches teachers

Vicky and Mehdi find Hortense in tears in the dressing room. He is completely panicked at the idea of having to teach the institute’s professors. Especially since Teissier decided that this would be an example of a fish cutting course during the first year. Vicki then suggests that her sister practice in front of her friends who pretend to be teachers.

At the atelier, Hortense practices against Vicky, Mehdi, and Lionel. The latter represents Guinot, Landiras and Teysier respectively. Hortense begins her cutting lesson by choosing a scree. But Lionel plays his part so well that his words destabilize him. A 3rd year would rather give up than look stupid in front of institute heads.

As she prepares to warn Teyssier, Hortense is held back by her mother. The latter tells him an anecdote: even when he was an intern, he was terrorized by great doctors. The deacon even called him Doxa. However, one day he pointed out a mistake he made that saved a patient’s life. After that, he never hated her again. Eugene believes that his daughter has all the qualities to be a teacher.

After regaining her confidence, Hortense confronts chefs Gino, Armand, Lacroix and Teyssier in the kitchen. He begins a course on scree cutting, slightly bewildered by the incessant remarks of the director of the institute. As time passes, Hortense still displays a natural authority.

Since Lacroix is the one who knows the least about cutting fish, Hortense has the opportunity to show all her qualities as a teacher next door. She helps him cut fish fillets, comparing his knife gesture to that of a samurai piercing an enemy. Thanks to his advice, Lacroix succeeded in training.

Later, Clotilde finds Teyssier in his office, hoping he has a better opinion of Hortense. But the latter still refuses to entrust lessons to an unqualified student. He also criticizes his teaching method, which he considers eccentric. Clotilde replies that it is better to open up other ways of teaching than the one in which they are formed, at the risk of graduating from old idiots. Teissier, however, stands his ground.

Meanwhile, Vicki joins her mother in the infirmary. She took the opportunity to show him her joy in being at the institute. But Eugene is not very receptive. On the other hand, when Hortense arrives to tell her how her exam went, Eugene is very attentive. Vicki did not notice their complicity.

In the evening, Deva helps David practice scree cutting. Teissier joins them in the kitchen to see the first year’s meager progress in this area. He starts over with her and gives her exactly the same advice as Hortense. Thanks to these tips, David can cut perfectly. Teissier asks him to perform the exercise on the other side of the fish. If she succeeds too, it will be proof that Hortense can indeed be a good teacher…

Ethan makes his decision

Axel and Ethan cook together in the studio. The latter involuntarily misses his hollandaise sauce, which he is accustomed to achieve with blinkered success. A young man explains to his friend that he had little sleep the night before because of his breakup with Samia. Ethan admits that he doubts her decision because he still has feelings for her. But Axel believes that he did well because he noticed that he was no longer happy in the couple.

In Landiras’ class, Ethan and Samia are assigned to work in pairs. A young girl is shocked to discover that her ex is acting as if nothing happened. Ethan then explains to her that they can’t continue to be together because they don’t expect the same from their relationship. On the other hand, he admits that he will continue to appreciate their work together.

At the end of the course, their couple receives the chef’s congratulations for the tiramisu. Ethan states that they are a good team in the kitchen, much to Samia’s chagrin. This person has the impression that his ex does not feel sadness. Ethan says he’s sorry, but he won’t go back on his decision.

Later, Billy joins Samia at the park as she lets off steam on a punching bag. Samia complains about Ethan’s reaction. Billy then tries to explain to her that being ambitious isn’t a fault, but it shouldn’t stop her from being considerate of others. Billy adds that he was heartbroken that Samia didn’t even tell Villa Medici about her candidacy. He doesn’t understand that Samya can leave and leave all his friends at the institute without any problems. The latter braces himself before these words.

Anais takes on the role of the ideal daughter-in-law

When they enter Double A’s kitchen, Anais and Theo run into Emmanuel and Axel working on preparing Bavaros. After that, the director of the institute asks them to taste it to get their opinion. Theo says it’s very good. But for her part, Anais points out that Rehan is too much.

Emmanuel gives him a reason before asking for another piece of advice. Then the young woman suggests adding bitter orange to their preparation. Excited that someone dares to tell him what is wrong and make interesting suggestions, Emmanuel begins a new preparation taking his advice into account. He also takes the opportunity to invite her to dinner with the Teysiers.

In the evening, Anais joins Theo, Axel and Emmanuel for a champagne toast. Charlene joins them when Theo announces that he has decided to put his father’s Bavarian on the double A menu. Emmanuel thanks Anais for her valuable feedback that improved the dessert. Charlene, who has just joined them, is sarcastic about her daughter-in-law. A young woman cut off by her father prefers to leave.

Finally, the family dinner is cancelled. Theo and Anais find themselves face to face, much to their displeasure…
