The PT approves the fiscal framework, but 1/3 of the constituency criticizes the text and the separate explanation of vote

PT members say they only supported the project “out of loyalty to President Lula”; the document said Cajado’s report limits the state’s ability to command a new round of development

BRASÍLIA – Twenty-two of the PT’s 68 deputies presented a separate explanation of vote on Tuesday evening, the 23rd, to reiterate their criticisms of the tax framework and they explain that they approved the project only “out of loyalty to President Lula”. The basic text of the new tax law was approved by the Chamber.

In the document, practically a third of the college says the deputy’s report Claudio Cajado (PP-BA) “strongly tightened the rules for the contraction of public spending, severely limiting the state’s ability to exercise social justice and lead a new cycle of development”.

The text was the way PT lawmakers found to make amends to the country’s new fiscal peg plan after President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva framed his party and warned he would not allow dissent to vote.
