He is the big hero of this story like no other: Jin Wang, an ordinary high school student, sees his everyday life change when he meets Wei-chen, a new Chinese student who has just arrived at his school. Quite reserved and not very confident, this manga fan does not like to attract attention and prefers to blend in with the crowd. However, he finds himself drawn, in spite of himself, into the heart of a conflict between Chinese deities…

The teen is played by Ben Wang, who appeared on MacGyver and more recently in Sex Nerd and Le Pari de Chang, two movies available on Disney+.

Jimmy is Liu Wei-chen

Wei-Chen couldn’t be more different from his new companion Jin: fiercely confident, he’s not afraid to stand up to those who stand in his way or try to intimidate him. Determined to get his hands on the mysterious fourth scroll, he will stop at nothing to complete his quest.

This cheerful and especially charming high school student is played by former taekwondo champion Jimmy Liu (Light the Night, Wit campus life).

Michelle Yeh is Guanine

The Goddess of Mercy, Guanyin joins Wei-chen on Earth to protect him and aid him in his mission. If assembling furniture isn’t his specialty, he’s a formidable warrior against anyone who dares clash with him!

Awarded the 2023 Academy Award for Best Actress in the smash hit Everything Everywhere at Once, it’s actress Michelle Yeoh who lends her qualities to this powerful deity. Having captivated the public in recent years with Crazy Rich Asians and Shang-chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, he brings a touch of goodwill and his contagious energy to the history of the American Chinese series.

KE HUY QUAN is Jamie Yao

In a great surprise for fans of Daniels’ feature film, Ke Hui Quan finds his costar Michelle Yeoh in this new Disney+ poster. After winning the Oscar for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, this time he gets to star in a sitcom called beyond repair. A character that seems completely disconnected from the rest of the story and yet!
