— SPOILERS for ‘Fast and Furious X’ —
‘Fast and Furious X’ was released in theaters last week including a couple of big surprises. The post-credits scene brought us back to Luke Hobbs himself, (Dwayne Johnson), after one of the most mediatic disagreements in Hollywood. But, before that moment, the end of ‘Fast and Furious X’ gives us the return of another of the franchise’s most beloved characters: Gisele (Gal Gadot)who died (“presumably”) in ‘Fast and Furious 6’.
Gisele is only seen for a few brief seconds at the end of the new movieappearing on the submarine from ‘Fast and Furious 8’ to pick up Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) and Cipher (Charlie Theron) in Antarctica.
Of course, Gisele is far from the first character to be resurrected in the ‘Fast & Furious’ saga, and surely not the last either.. Another major revival was that of Han Lue, the character played by Sung Kang. Gisele and Han had a romance in the movies, so fans are especially interested to see what the future holds for them. now that they are both alive. During a recent conversation with esquireKang talked about the return of Gadot and the future of his characters.
“I knew it was inevitable“Kang said of Gadot’s return. “First, we’re talking about ‘Fast & Furious,’ and it’s an audience used to getting what they want when they ask for a character to return. Because of where Gal’s career has gone with ‘Wonder Woman,’ and the goodwill and love that she has from people all over the world, it’s amazing that that other franchise can help ours. So for Gal, to have that kind of reaction with the audience… That’s what we want to hear“.
Asked if Gadot and Kang had discussed the future of their characters, the actor replied, “No, I haven’t,” Kang added. “She has been very busy, but I had heard that you were having conversations with her, and then, when it was official, they always start with, ‘Don’t tell anyone‘. [Risas.] And I say: ‘So many people within the circle have already seen this!’ But she knew it; something in my gut said that the fans would enjoy seeing her return“.
Earlier this year, Kang already addressed the possibility of Gadot’s return. “Why not?” he stated. “Who doesn’t want Gal Gadot in their life?“
Last week, Gadot took to Instagram to celebrate his return to the franchise. “I missed my family Fast! I am overwhelmed with emotion. To my fans, your continued love and support fuel this journey. This is to honor the legacy, the fans and the #FastFamily we have built together,” Gadot wrote.
