While the third season of The Witcher Adventures will be coming to Netflix soon (Part 1 on June 29th, Part 2 on July 27th), this new series, which has not yet been officially announced by Netflix, was recently mentioned in an interview. Diagnosed in remission from lung cancer in 2015, Dolph Lundgren is currently in high demand at Hollywood studios as he has just finished shooting two highly anticipated films: The Expendables 4 and Aquaman 2.
The actor has also been announced as a spin-off of the Creed saga, a project that is rooted in a conflict with his old friend Sylvester Stallone.
Remember that a prequel dedicated to the story of the first witch (or rather the first witch) has already seen the light of day, called The Blood Legacy. This four-episode mini-series was not a box office success, but returns to underwhelming critical acclaim and underwhelming viewership.
The Witcher series is adapted from the fantasy novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski, which were adapted into video games by the Polish studio CD Projekt RED. The story follows the adventures of mutant demon hunter Geralt of Rivia, his adopted daughter Ciri, and Yennefer Wengerberg, a witch with a troubled past.
The first two seasons of The Witcher and its previous mini-series Blood Origin are now available on Netflix.
