The best song from ‘The Little Mermaid’ in Spanish is just as spectacular as in English and is performed by a singer who almost represented Spain at Eurovision

The premiere of the live action movie of ‘The Little Mermaid’ has allowed us to listen to the spectacular new adaptation of one of the best songs from Disney animated classicsand the Spanish version is provided by a voice that was about to represent Spain at Eurovision in 2017.

‘The Little Mermaid’ is Disney’s live-action remake of the 1989 animated musical classic, starring Halle Bailey as Ariel, a young mermaid who trades her voice for legs in order to explore the human world. Although the new film also features songs co-written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the majority of the score is made up of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken’s original songs from the original soundtrack, including the iconic tune ‘Part of it (Part of Your World)’.

But the one that interests us is the Spanish version, which had a very difficult time matching the one from 1989 interpreted by Isela Sotelo. The person in charge of such an ambitious challenge has been Mirela Cabero, a singer from Madrid who came to the fore in 2017 when he competed with Manel Navarro to represent Spain in Eurovision after competing in programs such as EuroJunior and La Voz.

Mirela presented the single ‘Eurovision Goal 2017’With you‘, which was the winner of the public vote, tying with ‘Do It For Your Lover’ by Manel Navarro, and it was the jury that had to break the tie, leaving Mirela in second place.

Mirela, that same year of 2017, went up to their social networks a cover of ‘Part of him’ anticipating the role that Disney has commissioned him 6 years later: that of being the voice of Ariel in the songs of the new movie. Today she plays Nala in the acclaimed musical ‘El Rey León’ on Madrid’s Gran Vía.
