Niinisto will have an agenda in Brasilia and São Paulo
The President of Finland, Sauli Niinisto, will pay a state visit to Brazil between May 31 and June 2, the Brazilian government informed this Friday (26).
On Thursday (1st), Niinisto will be received by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who will also host a lunch at the Itamaraty Palace. In addition to Brasilia, the Finnish head of state will also have Sao Paulo on his agenda.
Brazil and Finland have maintained diplomatic relations since 1929 and this is Niinisto’s second visit to the country, the last one during the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in 2016. The last president to visit the European country was Dilma Rousseff, in 2015. .
