In a website interview expirationFrancesca Orsi, head of drama programming at HBO, commented that “we consider The Dragon House as an incredibly successful play that exceeded all our expectations by offering a spin-off.
“With all eight scripts written by Ryan, despite some changes, I can say that we are very confident in what we are doing for the team responsible for the second season. We sincerely believe that audiences will be equally satisfied, if not more,” commented the executive.
The House of the Dragon may not end soon
However, the bigger point is about the world beyond Season 2. Francesca believes that the production of the third season will not take as long as the second. For now, the team is focused on publishing the near-finished content, but Orsi says George and Ryan will talk after the writers’ strike, to decide if The Dragon House will have four or more parts.
“Will it be four seasons? I think according to what I see, it is not possible to have less than four. But it could be more. We’ll see,” commented Orsi.
The Dragon House It is a series based on the book Fire and bloodby George R.R. Martin. The first season has been available since July for HBO Max subscribers, and the second season is expected to arrive between June and August next year.
