With a very long list of successes, Capcom’s horror saga has already known how to reinvent itself many times, offering different proposals within the genre. With many titles, the franchise has also amassed several notable characters, with many iconic names. In today’s post, we bring you a list of The 5 best Resident Evil characters!
Jill Valentine
Resident Evil 3 remake
The first place on our list could not be anyone else’s. She started it all, faced Nemesis and has appeared multiple times as one of the mainstays of the franchise. In the first Resident Evil, our dear Jill Valentine starred in the adventure alongside Chris, with the player choosing who to face the horrors of the game with.
Present at the beginning of the saga, Jill returned in Resident Evil 3 to have an entire game of her own. Like the big title character, the character had to escape Raccoon City by facing none other than Nemesis, the most iconic villain in the entire horror franchise. Though she is long gone, Jill is still number one in our hearts.
Claire Redfield
Resident Evil 2 remake
Claire is another of the names that demonstrates how the Capcom franchise knows how to offer great characters. Unlike other names like Jill, Chris and Leon, our redhead has no training and is not a police officer or anything like that, but she does not lag behind the other protagonists.
Claire first appeared in Resident Evil 2, being one of the protagonists of the game, alongside Leon. In search of Chris, her brother, the girl stopped in Raccoon City on the day of the zombie outbreak. Facing the undead and the menacing Mr. X, Claire did everything to protect Sherry and she proved herself a true survivor.
Also, of course we can’t forget the redheaded protagonist of Resident Evil: Code Veronica. Being the big name in one of the main titles of the franchise, the character has won even more affection from the fans.
Chris Redfield

He was also there when it all started and remains prominent in the franchise to this day. Big and skilled, Chris Redfield is a crowd favorite and has achieved several memorable successes within the Capcom franchise.
Chris can be considered the classic character with the most significance today, as he is the only one who appeared in Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village, the last two sequels released. Marked for being the famous ‘handful of stones’, Chris Redfield is so much more than a meme, he also holds a very special place in the hearts of fans.
Leon S. Kennedy

Leon S. Kennedy is considered by many to be the great protagonist of the franchise, with Resident Evil 4 the title having the greatest importance in the success of the character. If Leon had fans in Resident Evil 2, in RE4 the character became beloved with the extreme success of the game, which broke the bubble and became popular even among players who were not fans of the Capcom franchise.
From rookie cop on his first day to highly skilled agent, Leon has faced the horrors of Raccoon City and faced the ganados, experiencing many iconic moments from the horror franchise.

While we could list other characters who have appeared perhaps even more prominently, we couldn’t leave Ada Wong off our list. The mysterious spy is loved by legions at a time, even if she’s never had a whole game to define about her.
Playable in some titles, with great emphasis on the Separate Ways mode of Resident Evil 4, Ada Wong has captivated players with her participation in the franchise, always bringing with her so much mystery and unanswered questions. She is an extremely captivating and impactful character.
