Strada, Polo, Onix Plus and Creta lead sales in May

With less than a week to go until the end of the month, there’s only contention between tailgates and SUVs; see the differences in placements

Fiat Strada, Volkswagen Polo, Chevrolet Onix Plus and Hyundai Creta lead sales in May, with less than a week left in the month. The numbers are from Fenabrave, collected on Saturday 27.

Of the four most important automotive segments, only two are contested: hatchbacks and SUVs. The Fiat Strada will take another monthly victory among pick-ups and the Chevrolet Onix Plus will win among sedans.

The Volkswagen Polo leads the hatchback for the first time, with 6,586 sales, but is closely followed by the Chevrolet Onix, with 6,123. It is very difficult, but it is still possible to discount the difference of 463 cars. The Polo drives among passenger cars.

The Hyundai Creta leads the SUV with 4,316, but the Volkswagen T-Cross, with 4,251, is only 65 behind. The breakthrough possibilities of the T-Cross are greater than those of the Onix Hatch, as the announcement of a reduction in car prices up to R$ 120,000 has pushed the market back into the more accessible price ranges.

Among sedans, the Chevrolet Onix Plus has 5,121 sales and will not be surpassed by the Toyota Corolla, which has only 3,290 registrations.

Among the pick-ups we have another Fiat Strada, which is also the absolute leader with 8,458 sales. The small pick-up has more than double the number plates of the Fiat Toro, second in the segment with 4,161 sales.
