The 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival is about to end, with the delivery of the main prizes, including the prestigious Golden Palm. The first prize of the festival went to the film Anatomy of a falla new production by French director Justine Triet.
This is the third time a female director has won the award, after acclaimed director Jane Campion, who won with plan in 1992, as well as Julia Ducournau, in 2021, for the film Titan.
In Anatomy of a fall — Anatomy of a fall, in free translation -, a man is found dead in the snow outside the isolated cottage where he lived with his wife, a German writer, and their blind 11-year-old son. The investigation concludes that it is a “suspicious death”: it is impossible to know with certainty whether he took his own life or was murdered. The film has yet to be released in Brazil.
